This pair of Norwegian sisters discovered quilting in a big way, and have gone on to put together a fun and straightforward book using mostly triangles in their quilts. The subtitle of this book is Nineteen Quilts for Foundation Piecing, but the foundations referred to are the paper foundations used in quick piecing the triangles. There is an excellent selection of different styles of quilts using quick pieced triangle blocks, with everything from beginning to intermediate patterns. Some of the quilts are fast and basic (Rhinestones, Blue Stars), while others are more elegant (Waterlilies, Tea Time), and some are positively contemporary looking (One Step Further I & II, Through the Maze). A good all around introduction with good technique instructions in the front. |
